Family Portraits

Family Photoshoots are always… well A LOT, for a lot of reasons. Our last family photoshoot with dad was right after Jayce was born. That’s more than 6 years ago. I kept meaning to do another one and then the baby was 2!

We took pictures of us all as a family; candid’s, selfies etc. That was never a problem. I was really gonna do a family portrait, it was on the shortlist. I had a plan. Then dad died. For a long while I didn’t have it in me, in fact, it didn’t even cross my mind for a very long time.

It is a whole other thing to set a date with a photographer, get everyone their outfit that is in sync with all the rest. Then, to get everyone together with a photographer and to get everyone to smile all together at the same time; this is a whole effortful process.

The photographer was so very helpful in wrangling the boys. I love them all so very much. And we had an amazing time do this, surprisingly. Thankyou to the photographer for all the help and skill in handling us and capturing these beautiful shots.

I couldn’t bring myself to do one without Grant in it for years, but I finally did do it. I am starting to get into all the living of life. This is our second one. It was only 2 years after the first one… I’m getting better.

This portrait is very interesting. As someone pointed out to me, just to the right of our two boys, it almost looks like the sun is the head of an angel with a bright light under it in the field. This rendition is in watercolor from phone filters.

With only the filter being applied to the natural picture, it emphasizes the colors natural in the photo. To see the real photo go to: https://www.instagram.com/p/C9pTxWupJhZ/
