Heavy Bag Love Letter
Dear Grant,
I remember a time when making videos was your uber focus. I remember how you wanted to make as many videos as you could. Your audience was all you could think about. You wanted to give them as many videos as possible, but felt like you couldn’t do it fast enough.
You fretted over what to do. We finally came up with the idea of quick clips. You thought, ‘I can make little previews of what I’m working on as I make the project videos, then they don’t have to wait as long to know what I am doing.’
The pressure you put on yourself. It was so much, but in reality, was it even there anywhere but inside? I loved the crinkly sound when the “quick clips” words were revealed. I remember how proud of yourself you were for that intro, and how you felt like you could give more with these.
You wanted to give them everything you could. Do you guys know how much Grant loved making these videos for you? It was his joy and passion, besides us. He really lived to make those videos we all watched.
This one is funny cause I would have never guessed how a light plastic bag would prevent the stick from moving. It really is amazing! And then, crazy enough, how it would cause the stick to break with just a little tweak.
A plastic bag making a stick break?! Who would have thought. It seems so simple yet has such a profound impact. I think about us as a couple, and the pressures we put on ourselves. Now I see, it wasn’t as much as we thought, but it was just enough to make it feel like we were breaking.
So many life lessons were in what you taught us but just naturally. They mean even more now that you’re gone. Thank you for all the party tricks you used to entertain people as well. Those were another special part of what you did.
I love you.
Love,
Janae
In this New Year, some exciting projects we’ve been working on will be revealed.
